Locally owned for over 25 years, Cemac Southern Ltd operates as Cemac Commercial Interiors and Dexion Supply Centre. We have a team experienced in picking up projects at any stage between concept and completion and “believe communication is the key to delivering the promise”. We have the capacity, experience and knowledge to successfully refit any commercial space from office through to warehouse, where we believe “the options are only limited by our imagination”.

Our philosophy at Cemac is “creating places people love to work in” and we have a similar professional approach when working with our clients and business partners. 

Cemac’s unique point of difference, as well as being local, is our extensive range of products for commercial environments, offering cutting edge furniture and seating solutions through to workbench and shelving options for more heavy duty requirements. Our People

The Admin Team

 John Swallow - Managing Director                                    

John began with Cemac in Wellington in 1988 before moving to Christchurch in 1991. The opportunity arose in 1994 to purchase the Christchurch branch of Cemac Commercial Interiors which he has continued to run ever since. 2010 saw John pick up the local Dexion Supply Centre. Following the earthquakes the businesses were forced to move together into one building and have successfully worked in one central building since.

Now, over 30 years on since joining Cemac, John continues to enjoy the challenges in contracting and the building industry offers and looks forward to seeing the company continue to grow.

John is married to Mel and has two children, Jacob and Emily.

Katie Nicholas - Office Manager                                        

In 2001 Katie joined Cemac in an Office Admin role - 18 years later she is an integral part of the team in her current position as Office Manager. Katie oversees the administration department and controls all accounts.

Katie is married to Chris, loves to travel, enjoys performing arts and enjoys a nice glass of wine.

Alana Gebbie - Marketing and Administration                  

Alana has been part of the Cemac team for the past seven years on a part time basis assisting Katie in the accounts department and is our marketing and health and safety expert.

Alana is married with a sport mad son and loves dance and musical theatre and like Katie is partial to a nice glass of wine.

 Alison Fern  - Customer Service  Administrator           

Alison joined Cemac in 2015 and may well be the first person you see or speak to in our company each time you visit. As our first point of contact, Alison's vast customer service experience makes her an asset to our team.

 Mark Andrews - Business Development Manager           

Mark joined Cemac in 2018 following many years in the interiors industry working in various roles including Sales and Marketing, Estimation and Contracts Management. 

Marks enthusiasm, drive and knowledge has lifted the whole company and is leading the way in business growth.

Euan Muirson - Contracts Manager                                  

If you think of Cemac Christchurch, you think Euan Muirson. Euan began with Cemac way back in 1983 - yes 1983! As one of the most experienced Contracts Managers in Christchurch, Euan has overseen nearly all of the major projects carried out by Cemac in the South Island. Quiet, calm and organised, Euan is Mr Reliable. His skills now include significant expertise on Health and Safety matters.

With three grown up children and two grandchildren, Euan and his wife Cheryl enjoy their lifestyle block and their horses in their spare time.

Michael Stevens - Quantity Surveyor

A recent addition to our team. Michael has just graduated from ARA Institute of Canterbury is keen to continue developing his skills and knowledge.

Nigel Gregory - Foreman                                                   

Originally from England, Nige, his wife Angela and their two young boys arrived in Christchurch in 2009 looking for a new life. They have happily settled in Rangiora and Nige has been with Cemac as a Foreman and leading light on site ever since. Keen and efficient , Nige has led his team of carpenters as they have completed many fantastic projects over the past seven years. Always keen to help, Nige can be found in the weekend, caravaning with the family or honing his skills on a golf course somewhere.

 The Operations Team

Clint Hoeben - Operations Manager         

Clint first joined Cemac as a shelving salesperson during 2008 after arriving in New Zealand with his family from South Africa. Following the acquisition of Dexion Supply Centre in 2010, Clint was appointed Administration Manager before becoming Operation Manager. Clint runs the day to day Dexion operations including supervising staff, product and installations.

A distinguished dog show judge, Clint is married to Charmaine with two young children and six dogs.

Mark Peters - Racking Inspector       

Mark joined the Cemac team in April 2016 and has been responsible for handling warehouse and stock management. He recently moved into the newly created Racking Inspector role and is available to carry out inspections to ensure your racking is compliant and provide a comprehensive report on any repairs and maintenance required to ensure safety standards are being maintained.

A keen fisherman, Mark is married with two children.

Greg Mornin - Operations & Logistics     

After six years working as part of our installation team Greg has joined the Operations side of our business. His onsite experience and  extensive product knowledge will be invaluable arranging client installations.



The Sales & Design Team

 George Simpkin -  Engineering and Sales Manager  

English born Design Engineer, George has run our Christchurch racking design department since 2010. George oversees all racking design for the company. George, true to his English heritage enjoys a game of football and a good pint in his spare time.

Jamie Auld - Draughtsman                           

Jamie joined the Cemac team during 2015 having recently completed a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Management and Economics at the University of Canterbury. He is developing excellent knowledge of our extensive product range and is quickly becoming our 'go to' guy with his computer skills.

Jamie is another Cemac team member with a passion for football.

Wayne Hawker - Industrial Sales         

The last of the original Hamilton Perry staff, Wayne brings over 35 years racking experience to the team. Many of the larger racking project around the northern South Island over the past 25 years have had input from Wayne.

A keen squash player he enjoys boating and camping with his family and grandchildren.

Andrew Toneycliffe - Commercial and Furniture Sales                             

Andrew joined the Cemac team in 2014 after many years with a leading national furniture supplier. He brings a huge amount of experience to the furniture department to match his dry wit and love of golf.

Andrew had developed successful projects form many clients both small and large, including a number of multinationals.

Chris Tyson - Industrial Sales                   

Chris joined Cemac in early 2017. He has a long history in the building industry and brings a wealth of knowledge to the team.

His organisational skills and ability to future proof clients requirements make a chat with Chris essential when planning your warehouse upgrade.
